A Week filled with MTV awards and surpirses

Yesterday marks the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. Twilight Wins all. Christina On Stage Energized!!!! and last week we see VMA Japan!!!! BigBang Best New Artist!!!! Exile 3 wins 3 consecutive year!!!!!!

Grammy is the greatest music awards show ever. you think? Look at Pink.

What impress me the most on Grammy, is not the explosive opening Lady Gaga did with Sir Elton John, it’s not how Taylor Swift beat all the girls in the last award, it’s not about how Beyonce become the most awards winning singer, it’s not even about the sexy performance she gave or the ultimate Michael Jackson tribute they did for the day……..
It’s the one and only performance that only one person in the history of music dare to do live. Hanging and singing and soaking wet was Pink modest description of her performance, it’s the most daring, beautiful, wonderful, amazing, fantastic, and mesmerizing singing that any singer have done. Yes, she did it before. But she did it again. And this time even more intense. Can you get any other singer to do it? Few years back we are still awing about some singer dropping down from the theatre roof on some ring or moon. Or walking down a long winding staircase on 7 inches heels. This…. In Pink and Pink only exclusive. So admit it guys, she is……. On amazing and unique artist.

Avatar take home the most debated Best Movie with nomination just less than a month into screening.

The most deserved Best Actor and Actresses Ever given, Jeff Bridges, Sandra Bullock and Mo'Nique.

There's a whole new Best Comedy Series in the TV game now, Glee, Best TV Comedy Series...... Yeah!!!! Finally after 3 years of drought.

And Comedy for Motion Picture is going to go all Commercial this year, the most earning comedy of the year, The Hangover got the Globe.

As for Comedy Actor and Actresses, the ever so-lovely double nominated Meryl Streep got the Globe with Julie & Julia, which would be expected to bring her another nomination in Oscar definitely. For the battle of the king, Robert Downey Jr. got the Glode over from Daniel Day Lewis. Christoph Waltz getting the prize with Inglorious Basterd is a surprise, beating Matt Damon and Woody Harrelson but the speech would be one of the most eleborately celestial of the night.

Animation, no surprise that Pixar again taken home their trophy with Up.

James Cameron got the best Director and I keep waiting for him to scream I'm the King of the World again. After all he is the king of the world with 2 of the top most box office film under his belt now..... Any studio would give him any money to produce any movies now.

Yet I'm still waiting for the new Best Drama to come out of TV. Mad Men got it's third year's recognition this time around and Micheal C. Hall finally, finally got the Globe for being the scariest person on TV land, and great news to John Lithgow as the best supporting in his first season in Dexter.

However I must say that TV movies as now no less glamorous than the big screen these days, and Drew Barrymore's Grey Gardens and herself have brought home the trophy.

The one great news in Drama series is that they have a new queen. One that have gotten the Sexiest Man Alive....... in ER and become the ex-downfalled-president's Wife in the Good Wife, Julianna Margulies.

All in all, Ricky is funny, the show is charming and heart warming. It's gone back to the Charming star-filled dinner awards presentation of the good old golden days.

One thing that hangs in the mind of everyone in the room is the efforts to help Haiti. there's been plenty endorsement to the public throughout the show to the public on how they can join in and donate for Haitian relief.

The Golden Globe nomination and let the drama begin

Now the New Golden Globe Nominations is all in today, can Meryl Streep Receive more nomination seems like the theme this year.
And to tell the truth, the writer will have a thrill on this one. But Meryl Streep, need anyone to say more. It is in my opinion about time that she got another Oscar for female lead this year if I can have my way with it.
One huge surprise from the nomination is the first Nominated Best Pic for the year. Avatar?! It’s just came up this week, how is it possible to reach nomination so fast? People are still debating whether the Special Effects is good or bad. Well, maybe the name of James Cameron is enough to bring it. For a Graphically heavy action movie to get a Best Drama Nod, this is a first, and the main characters are mostly CGI. Maybe the animation can become a best actor too.
I am somewhat voting on Precious to take home the awards this year, seeing that it is the winner in Sundance. And How does Inglorious Basterds consider a Drama instead of Comedy?
As for Best Female, I love the facts that a new comer like Gabourey Sidibe(Precious)would compete with the winner, Helen Mirren(The Last Station), the Most likely Sandra Bullock(Blind Side) and the New and Always original, Emily Blunt (The Young Victoria). The Best Drama Female will have the best Drama this year.
As for the Best male lead….. the fight is a bit below the mark, Jeff Bridges, George Clooney and Colin Firth Vs Morgan Freeman and Tobey Maguire. The fame Clan, versus the Effort Clan. Morgan Freeman, the Best ever to play Nelson Mandela, and Tobey…. Look at the face and the body, can any actor seems more dedicated to his work this year?
As for the Best Comedy, you got the edgy and original type, (500) Days of Summer, the No Brainer Blockbuster Type, The Hangover, the lighthearted love story type, It’s Complicated, the Classic, Julie & Julia and the MUSICAL, say more Oscar,……. Nine?
This will be an interesting indication what Comedy truly is the king of the Humor world, when everyone of them is as entertaining as anything you can get. It even up stage the Best Drama this year.
So best Female in Comedy….. will there be a 2 win for Sandra Bullock? Or which type Meryl will win(….. Julie & Julia)? Or…. Let the fight of the Oscar begin, Julia Roberts and Marion Cotillard and Meryl Streep. Sandra is the only none Oscar Best Female in the category, so will she be next?
As for the Best Support by a female…. I’m betting everything on Mo’nique (Precious), I just couldn’t see anything can top that. Yes Penelope is great in Nine and Beautiful. As Dreamgirls say, Penelope has always been beautiful but Mo’nique got the Chop. HAHA!
As for best Screenplay, I’d love to see District 9 got the nod. For it is one of the most original Screenplay I’ve ever seen in years. It’s not the most feel good movie ever, but it has meat.
This year, I actually think that Pixar might lose it’s trophy to one of the animation.
On the TV world, I vote…. True Blood for Best Drama (but most like Big Love would be the one to win), Glenn Close for Best Female, Simon Baker is about time to be recognize to bring Mentalist to life, Do you hear Tina Fay and Alec Baldwin again? Or will David Duchovny finally get away with it and Edie Falco come back in a big way, or the most earning new Series of the year Glee be winning every one of them including Best Comedy? Or would a cougar hold the trophy? Well, actually the TV Mini Series have even more to be hype for than the full-length series (some actually didn’t even make the full season and could be called mini-series too haha!) my bet is on “a Garden” and “the Storm”.

The Academy Awards - OSCAR 2009

Slumdog Millioanire has become the biggest winner in this year’s OSCAR and it truly is a slumdog to riches story for the cast and crew of the Independent movie. Winner of 8 awards of the 10 nomination which include the technical Like sound missing, Cinematography , editing and both song and score and adapted screenplay, of course not to forget the Best Director and Best Picture honors. The ceremony as usual is done in KodakTheatre. With a swarovsky curtain surrounding the stage it’s made the stage much smaller, more intimate and more old glamor. Bravo to the new production team, that this year’s Oscar is a great great success and much better than a lot of the previous year. This year the nominee of the actor category award is celebrated and honored by their own pears and 5 previous winners and great legend standing on stage to announce and congratulate the nominee. Everyone is so honored and moved that the ladies literally fall into tears before the award is announces.

With a new show comes and new style and a new host. Though I must say it is very similar to the Tony, maybe it’s Hugh Jackman. Everyone rumored that there will not be an opening but Hugh just gotta do it and to tell the truth it is as great as Billy Crystal is not better. Well done to the sexiest man of the year. Hugh did a run through of all the movies and some extra nominations usual and also did a pre-rehearsed stint with Anne Hathaway on Frost/ Nixon.

It’s a big year for the musical with Cadillac Records and Mamma Mia and High School Musical in the cinema, of course and with a Tony Winner as a host, you bet that there will be a performance on Musical. That includes Dominic and Amanda and Zac and Venessa.

While presenting the actor awards, Whoopi did a reflection joke on the nun character nominee by Amy Adams, and the Cube Gooding Jr. did one on Robert Downey Jr. on his Tropic Thunder character who is an Australia who gone through plastic surgery to be an African American in the movie both Amy and Robert is beaten to the award by Penelope Cruz (a surprise for a romantic comedy actress to take home the award.) and of course Heath Ledger of the Dark Knight, who family presented a moving thank you speech

Benjamin Button with the most nominees however takes home Best Make Up and Art Direction and Visual Effects as expected. The only disappointment that I have is the winning by the Duchess for Best Costume. Not that they are not deserving, and I know that Victorian costume are totally hard to do but this is probably the 7^th out of the last decade that win the award already and the predictability is just becoming more boring.

I must say that I was totally surprise when Milk got the Best Original Screenplay and also proud that Dustin Lance Black got the award. It is an amazing script and it is totally honorable and for the first time in so many year openly gay people can finally stand tall on the world stage, in the Olympics and in the film industry right now and I thought that an Art industry should be more acceptable and the reality is as it is that now only it seems that equality is reached this year. In his speech, Dustin thanks his family for having the courage and love to move him from the conservative Mormon community to the California because of his sexuality and his hope of one day that equality for homosexual people of federal rights.

Surely it is the war of predator and the aliens on the Best Actor Nominee, though that Benjamin Button’s Brad Pitt is a very covered actor on the nomination but it is widely thought that it is after all a fight between Sean Penn and Mickey Rourke. Both with a dark personal past in the media and rise above the ashes, So in the end Sean with the more notable and longer calming period takes home the award, but not without being joke on how he handle the photog and how his humanitarian work is applaud. In his speech he shamed those who vote prop 8 and resonance with Dustin Lance Black speech that he wish that equality in achievable in the very near future for everyone.

Other less interesting award, with some of the best jokes from t he presenter like Jack Black and Jennifer Aniston and also Seth Rogen and James Franco, are also awarded to Best Animation Wall-E of course, Best Animated short for La Maison En Petite Cubes. Documentary taken home by the most watched feature of the year, Man on Wire and Documentary shot by Smile Pinky.

The memoriam Feature has left me reminded that we have lost a lot of the best artist for the industry this year, from Bernie Mac to Michael Crichton, to Anthony Mingella, Sidney Pollack, Charlton Haston to Paul Newman. And the highest honor of the night is given to a great humanitarian and one of the best known faces on movies, Jerry Lewis is the recipient for the Gene Hershaw award.

Of course besides taking home the Supporting Actor award, The Dark Knight also take home Sound Editing. But in my mind it should take home Cinematography for having the courage to take the revolutionary high detail IMAX camera to make the film and also Visual Effects….. I mean it’s an action movie with some of the most amazing car chase and bat mobile and all. That should counted for something. But I guess in the end this year they are focusing more of computer generated visual effects.

Foreign movie goes to the Japan’s Departure rather than the Isreali realistically animated war movie.

John Legends Wall –E original song is weaved between the other 2 nomination of Slumdog Millionaire A. R Rahman when the performed the songs and it is totally mesmerizing.

And at last the most most waited award of the year, Best Actress is taken home by Kate Winslet. Finally, the one person that should have been awarded long before this is totally deserving this year to take home the statue for her fifth nomination in the same category. Of course the presentation of the winner is not without the funny moving introduction of the nominee by past winners.

Our congratulation on the Slumdog wins and Kate and Sean and Dustin and A. R. Rahman and Danny Boyle and Heath and Penelope and the Benjamin Button Team and Wall – E, you all are the inspiration of everyone’s and film maker and writers’ life. And the 81^st Oscar is totally a night to remember.

BAFTA Award 2009! it's a marvelous night for the British and a little film about an underdog

While Sunday night marks the Biggest night in Music in the USA, Across the Atlantic it is the biggest night in movies for the British 8 hours earlier.
The BAFTA award for 2009 is on it’s way. And Slumdog Millionaire again took home the ultimate Best Film price further fortified it’s stature as the Best film in OSCAR.
Outstanding British Film as expected is given to Man on Wire.
The New Film worker awards, the Carl Foreman Award is given to Steve McQueen – Director and Writer for Hunger.
Of course Danny Boyle once more take home the Best Director award, and the Best original is given to Martin McDonagh of In Bruges and Adapted Screenplay for Slumdog.
Leading Actor award goes to Mickey Rourke for Wrestler and Kate Winslet take home Best Actress with The Readers. There’s probably no doubt in everyone’s mind that Mickey Rourke and Kate will go on to take home the OSCAR this Feb 22 night.
As for the supporting role Heath Ledger again take home for the Actor award with the Dark Knight which is no surprise there and estimated the late actor will take home the OSCAR too and Penelope Crus with Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
Slumdog nearly took home all of the technical award it is nominated for except losing out on Production Design to Benjamin Button, which is not surprising that most of the production for Slumdog take place in actual setting around Mumbai and Benjamin is a older time pieces that require more background creation. All together Slumdog take home 7 awards which include Sound, Editing, Music and Cinematography. Followed by Benjamin Button with 3 Technical Award including Special Visual Effects and Make Up awards. The Costume Design award goes to the Victorian design of The Duchess.
Noel Clarke is given the Orange Rising star award and Wall-E hit home with Animation.
As the BAFTA ended, most of the members are pretty certain that some of the awards are going to go for in the OSCAR. We’ll see if the prediction will be the same. This is truly a big year for independence movies. With Twilight taking the top spot on Ticket sales and Slumdog Millionaire becoming the biggest Independence movie to take home almost all Best movie awards.
On the side of the BAFTA, Director Danny Boyle have taken home the Best Director award in the Directors Guild and Best Adapted Screenplay in the Screen Writer Guild award and the Ensemble taking home the Screen Actors Guild award. All the union most prestigious award have gone to Slumdog not to mention the Golden Globe as well.

Welcome to the 2009 51st Grammy Awards!!!! Let's Party Guys

The Grammy is just over and it’s a fabulous night with a little bit of upset at the beginning. It’s not the big opening I thought it’s be, U2 is doing a great job but a one song opening is not the traditional opening they have. I guess Chris Brown and Rihanna is sitting out of the show at the last minute. (Because of an assault case, there’s no confirmation why Chris is in Custody and if the victim is Rihanna)
Moving on, the first award given away on the live telecast is presented by the incredible Whitney Houston. The Best R&B Album is received by another incredible woman in the music, the incomparable Miss Jennifer Hudson who later went on stage and perform one of the most amazing performance of the show. There, if you don’t believe the AI drop-out will be come a great artist….. well with a Grammy, and Oscar to proof it she is a star in her own right and non other African-American women have even walk her golden Pavement for a long long time.
Al Green and Boys II Men and Keith Urban and Justin Timberlake make the first crossover collaboration of the soul, and then followed by Coldplay with a Brief appearance by the Boss, Jay Z.
Carrie Underwood did her thing later and then the award for country Dou or a Group goes to Sugarland…. Finally someone besides Rascal Flatts is receiving the award and Sugarland is the most deserving to take over. And then Songs of the Year of course is given to Coldplay for Viva La Vida
After that Kid Rock did his country and rock thing, and followed by the youngest collaboration of the community Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, which marks presentation the Best Vocal Collaboration to Allison Krauss and Robert Plant, the legendary twosome break down every hot seat in the house and the most popular to win crowd from Coldplay to Leona Lewis to the new comer Adele and Ne-Yo or even Lil Wayne and go on winning 3 more awards including Album of the Year and Record of the Year.
Next up one of the surprise and further cemented the influence of the most popular band and youngest band on the planet now, Jonas Brothers to perform with the legendary Stevie Wonder, and to get Stevie to sing their songs is simply the best compliment for the Jo Bros.

That later New Artist of the year is presented to everyone surprises…… Adele, beating such favorite like Jonas Brothers and Duffy. A disappointment for me personally is that Jason Mraz who I think is one of the artist of the year have gone home empty handed.

Gwyneth Paltrow introduces another British Rockband performance on stage, Radiohead which I think took the best out of the USC Marching Band – the Trojans on stage, they did splendidly.
The T.I. and Justin Timberlake goes on stage again to perform and follow by one of the surprises of the night, Jamie Foxx, Smokey Robbinson, Neyo and the remaining member of the unbeatable Four Tops – Abdul “Duke” Fakir for one of the most classical Jazz moment of the night. Then follow by another legend, Neil Diamond. Which is then follow by more legendary collaborations, from Keith Urban, John Meyer with King of Blues, B.B. King. Then followed by Lil Wayne with Allan Tusson and Robin Thicke performance. Best Rap was presented to Lil Wayne after that of course. which is then followed by the last nominee’s performance of the night, Allison Krauss and Robert Plants perform their winning album’s songs and go own winning the last awards of the night for Best Album presented by Green Day. And the show is closed by Stevie Wonder performing his classics.
On the earlier award presentation before the live telecast, Duffy is the winner for best Pop Vocal Album and Adele is the Best Female Pop Vocal, Eagles won for Best Pop instrumental, Deft Punk beat our lady Gaga on Best Dance Recording and Album, Natalie Cole won earlier for traditional Pop Vocal or our boy, Josh Groban, and John Mayer surprisingly win Solo Rock Vocal with Gravity, and Kings of Leon deservingly take home Rock by Duo or Group over all the great and hot shot like Coldplay, Eagles, and Radiohead. Metallica most suitably take home the best Metal Performance, again! Yet another surprise on the rock side, Bruce Springsteen take home Best Rock Song! I mean are there no more space for real Hard Rockin anymore?!!! Alicia Keys take home Best R&B female, Ne-Yo take home Best Male Vocal and Best R&B Song, and Al Green take on Best Vocal R&B By Duo or Group with John Legend and traditional R&B Vocal Performance with Anthony Hamilton.
Mary J. Blige did take home one for Contemporary R&B Album with Growing Pains and the Rap Pack take in Best Rap/Sung Collabo.

Oscar Nominees is released today, Slumdog Got 13 Hooray and Benjamin is getting 10!!!

Well, with the Golden Globe off, the award season is on, there will be the SAG award and of course today also mark the day that the OSCAR nominee is announced.

It is a mix emotional day with the nominee.

We are very very excited with the OSCAR going for a long list of Slumdog Millionaire and Benjamin Button Nominee.

The 81^st OSCAR will be an exciting one, with a new host coming, Hugh Jackman, and plenty of great wonderful movies.

It’s a bit of a shame for the OSCAR to let go of Revolutionary Road. yup, It only receive a couple of the technical awards. Kate and Leo even Sam Mendez is snubs. Kate however got in with a Best Actress nominee with The Readers.

Taking about leading actor and actresses nominees, it is as strong as any year, everyone of the nominee is more than deserving, Frank Langella gave the most impressive impersonation of Nixon in (Frost/Nixon), Sean Penn in Milk as the first Gay Senator is one of the most captivating character in movies, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, taking in 13 Nominees, Brad Pitt is the most rewarding one acting Benjamin from young to old or should we say old to young, and the Golden Globe dubbed Mickey Rourke will the underdog story repeat itself in the golden statue?

As for actress in the lead takes in Anne Hathaway from Rachel Getting Married which is one of the most inspiring character in this year independent film, Angelina Jolie in Changeling is sure nominee this year, but is it good enough for the award? Melissa Leo from The Frozen River is the only black horse that have not been appearing much in any award lately even with a great performance in the this sensitive story, or is it again a fight between 2 most controversial role this year, a nun who is going to Discloses a priest “Bad” habit, Meryl Streep in Doubt and the Kate Winslet in WWII holocaust movie, The Readers.

Of course the supporting role have an interesting mix where we are all rooting for the late Heath Ledger from “The Dark Knight”, mixes with Josh Brolin – finally for the role in Milk, he totally got snub from the movie W., of course not to forget the great Philip Seymour Hoffman who already is a winner looking for another win this year as the “bad” priest, or would Revolutionary Road take home the only nomination for actor, Michael Shannon which is a total surprise for me.

However we are most glad when Taraji P. Henson from Benjamin Button is nominated, she finally get the recognition she deserve together with Doubt’s Viola Davis, and of course Amy Adams is fighting for her second Oscar win with the character of the nun in the same movie, and who could let go of the sexy, beautiful Penelope Cruz for Vicky Cristina Barcelona and Marisa Tomei from the Wrestler.

On the Animation side, I think that it’d be a great time for a comedy like Kungfu Panda to win but I believe the more up to the award standard format type is Wall-E.

Slumdog which did not take in any actor, actresses nominee is however my bet for Best Movie, of course with a strong cast movie like The Readers, Benjamin Button and Frost/Nixon not to mention the most inspiring movie all year long, Milk (which come with the most amazing cast that is totally overlook this year), is a tough vote. Will the underdog really be the dog to go? We’ll have to wait and see.

As for original screenplay I’m pretty sure that Milk is the taker, as for the Adapted Screenplay there will be a big fight, it is a big year for almost all of the writing, from Benjamin Button to Doubt, to Frost/Nixon, Slumdog Millionaire and The Reader, all story that is worthy of a best movie nomination, where all 4 except Doubt is up for the Best movie this year OSCAR.

The 2009 Golden Globe is well over, star is partying and the surprise is well formed.

Yesterday’s Golden Globe is a big surprise. All the usual suspect is shut down (well except for some)and the underdog becomes the biggest winner.
There’s surprise everywhere.
First Kate Winslet finally win something, and it’s a double whammy to say the least. Best Actress and Best Supporting for Drama at the same time for 2 different movies? That’s a first.
Of course it’s no surprise that Mickey Rouke win the Best Actor for drama. Actually there’s no surprise if any of them win cos everyone in the category is really great this year. The biggest surprise is that Sally Hawkins win for the Best Actress in Musical or comedy. Who’d have thought that a virtual unknown would win over such great as Meryl Streep. But….. that doesn’t mean that Happy-Go-Lucky is not a fantastic realistic and funny movie to watch. Our congratulation to a great start for this young actress.
However the funny thing is Colin Farrell win for the Best Actor for Comedy, never in a second that I’d thought that Colin is the material for comedy central. HAHA!
I personally love Burn After Reading, so Vicky Cristina Barcelona winning Best Comedy is a big let down for me, not that it’s not a good film, just that it’s more of a funny romantic to me that a comedy to me.
Wall-E another win for the biggest animation company around for Best Animation. And the winning for foreign movies comes down to an animation is a great gesture for the HFPA to acknowledge that even animation can be serious. But the war torn story Waltz With Bashir is far too close to reality at this moment.
Of course the best publicity and greatest present of 2009 all goes to Slumdog Millionaire, the real underdog turn dragon of the night. The Dog rises, Best Movie, best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Score, I guess the actor ensemble doesn’t matter much haha!!!! It is a great day for independence really.
Well, the night’s highlight to me is Bruce Springsteen win over Clint Eastwood HAHA! With the Original song for The Wrestler. HAHA! Bruce is the Clint Eastwood of Music.
Well, moving on to TV, it’s the fight for the best Comedy and Drama, like always when awards doesn’t really amount up to rating in this region. There’s no doubt that 30 rock will again Rock the whole Comedy central, winning almost every award there is for Comedy, Best Comedy Series, Best Actress in Comedy, Best Actor in Comedy. I guess they are heading for the Best Ensemble in SAG too.
In Drama, all bets are off, there’s so many new faces there you could hardly pick out one that’s bad. I love True Blood, it’s bold, and reckless, and I’d love Hugh Laurie take home another Globe, but… it is time for a new guy on the seat and who better to top it that the great Gabriel Bryne. Anna Paquin win for Best Actress in Drama is a surprise. The actress that actually got an Oscar now have a globe to go with it. And though I’m not a great fan of Mad Man, there’s no contest that it is a good drama. So the honor is suitable for Best Drama series. As for the rest of the fights is between the TV movies, in fact is the Dragon and Tiger fight for the 2 great political moment of our time. The formation of USA of the old and the new Recount of the Florida 2004 Election. Who can beat the fore father of the whole nation eh? HAHA! Of course John Adams take home the Best TV movie and Mini Series, the Bes Actress – Laura Linley (Always love her), Bes t Actors Paul Giamatti (The Strangely Talented), and the always modest and funniest, Tom Wilkinson for the Best Supporting. Recount only grab of the night is the Best supporting for Actress, Laura Dern, who I think is totally underrated since she drop out of scene with the Ellen incident, she is a fantastic actress.
Golden Globe is always the more modest and relax affair with the jokes of Gentleman and Ladies that makes up the night. No doubt there’s plenty of jokes flying around there. Sacha Baron Cohen take some sucker punch on Madonna, talking about people in the audience getting younger as they gets older like Benjamin Button (with the miracle of Botox of course), and commented the Economics slump effect on cinema and promote his movie seamlessly to the joke and the joke on Victoria Beckham figure and Charlie Sheen story. There’s Seth Rogen take on Mickey Rouke bad habit in the past. And Ricky Gervais take on Ghost Town not nominated as a sign that HFPA love him but not his film, and his suggestion to Kate to do a holocaust that really brought her the Best Supporting. And joke on how he tried to get one Globe with Sex favor for all the HFPA members HAHA!!
It is a great night. Always in the best color of Hollywood old time glamour. And last but not least, our fond memory will always be with the late Heath Ledger who takes the Best Supporting Actor. And of course the highest honor of the day, Cecile B. DeMille for Steven Spielberg.

AMA - American Music Awards 2008 - Nov 23 - A full Star studded performance night

The AMA – American Music Awards just finish about an hour ago. Here are the winners for the night.
Chris Brown Took home all 3 of his nominees including Artist of the Year, best male in Pop/Rock and soul/R&B. And Rihanna took home the same 2 awards in the female categories, oh what a couple.
Alicia Keys took home 2 out of her 5 nominees, which is ironically the same 2 awards for best album in both category above.
Those with the second most nominees are rock band Coldplay and veterans the Eagles which both goes home empty-handed.
Kanye West took home rap/hip-hop album and best male, who he claimed in his speech should go to Lil’ Wayne.
Taylor Swift is the new Bloom taking home best Country this year, no surprise there with a new #1 album on the chart now, and Brad Paisley again is the Best Male Country
Performance this year is fantastic as always, ranging from Miley Cyrus to Annie Lennox, who later received the lifetime achievement award. We also see the Jonas brothers this time on stage, no tripping this time, whew….
Christina Aguilera is on her first performance after giving birth. and Beyonce performs as well as Pussycat Dolls. Wait this time AMA have out done themselves. That’s isn’t even half of it. We see The Frey’s on, then all time fave, Sarah McLaclan, most award winners like Taylor Swift and Rihanna also perform their hits on stage. And one big surprises, ladies……. (that’s older than 30) Scream….!!!!!!!!!!!!!! New Kids on the Block is on stage dancing off to their own beat. Natasha Beddingfield is there and so do Mariah Carey, with his hubby Nick Cannon give a little kiss on her hand while she’s performing. Of course we have Coldplay playing their latest tune… wait…. Let me…… take a breath first….
Scream……… Alicia have a double with the Queen….. Queen Latifah that is. God could they do any better? Sure they did it and top it with Pink with the most unlikely collaborator Sarah McLaclan. And the all over Leona Lewis of course is in AMA as well.
