Top 10 Holiday Must Watch Movie of the Year, Christmas, Sci fi, Comedy and more

Everyone. This holiday season we have a great movie collection for you guys to feast on.
Our own top 10 movies for the holidays
First up, Nothing Like The Holidays
You can just feel the holiday feeling creeping around. This movie about Latin celebrating their Christmas in the states, about a family with all the right stuff of family argument, drama and siblings rivalry, all the chaos and joy of life as a family. Comprising some of the most amazing Latin actor and actresses, Alfred Molina, Elizabeth Pena, Freddy Rodriguez, Luis Guzman, Jay Hernandez, John Leguizamo, Jay Hernandez and Debra Messing. Produced by Freddy Rodriguez in his hometown in Chicago in the coldest winter ever simply shows the great effort and sincerity of the production. The great vibe just exuberating from it. Love the anomaly of the story, love the familiarity of the environment and the great acting and humor of this ensemble. So why wait? This will be our top 1 pick for the holiday.
Second on the line, Four Christmases.
One of the highest ranked actresses teamed up with one of the top most rank comedian what do you expect and to have one of the best female comedian on TV in the movie is a great plus. This movie comprise of great holiday cheers with the great humor of Reese Witherspoon, Vince Vaughn, and Kristin Chenoweth. Of course you can catch a glimpse of the great Sissy Spacek too, that’s a big plus. A couple tries to visit their 4 divorced parents in the holiday….. all hell break loose when the flight is cancel. Going through with the family brings up so many worst nightmare from the past….. it’s a funny movie to watch.
For those trying to beat of a different track, you can get the not so holiday…. Marley and Me.
The movie marks the return of Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson on the big screen. What happens when you got a dog that’s the devil from hell? (no nothing supernatural in this movie, just plain comedy). He do everything out of the ordinary and his adorable as hell (no not Owen Wilson, The Dog, Marley). Well you are bound to see some great action with the Dog pulling the string to get his master to fall in love with his lady. It’s an inspirational story what a great companion (The dog) can be and make us realize the important of life and family.
It’s always the award season when it comes to the end of the year. Sure you’ll get a lot of non-holiday- relevant independent and award worthy movies ahead of you.
You can check out Milk, where Sean Penn produced and acted as the first Californian elect openly gay officials, Harvey Milk. He is elected San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors in his third attempt on the election and successfully achieve the feat in 1977, being a Gay Rights Activist and city Politician, he is assassinated by former board member, Dan White along with SF Mayor at the time, George Moscone. The story discuss the journey of his win and his private life and his friend along the way. If Sean is not the ultimate attraction, pay attention to the line up at the back, Emile Hirsch, James Franco, Josh Brolin, Diego Luna, Alison Pill, Victor Garber, Joseph Cross and Lucas Grabeel (No dancing and singing this time). I’m sure everyone in the film will tell you it’s a great deal to be working with Sean.
Another Politically correct movie is on the line up to the big screen this season.
Frost/Nixon
The infamous interview between the Post-Watergate former president, Richard Nixon and British TV Host David Frost. Even forced from office, Nixon have kept his mouth shut, but not this time. The interview of the 1977. Thinking the not so famous British showman will give Nixon an easy pass in the interview when he answer those question that have been hidden all this time. The telling of the tale behind the scene the doubt the courage and the outbreak of this mere showman’s effort to drill Nixon out of his rabbit hole. The ego, the insecurity, the fight for dignity begin when the camera start rolling and both men are fighting to keep their own ground in tacked and making this the most exciting interview of the century and totally display of the unvarnished truth.
If you are looking for something that’s award worthy and great actor (some of the sexiest man alive movies)
The Titanic return of the most loved couple on screen, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in the Revolutionary Road is a great movie to watch out for. DiCaprio also have Body of Lies, the political suspense action movie on the board at the moment, are sure to make a run for the Oscar this year. This movie that focuses on the actor an actresses performance the whole time, a story about a suburban family trying to fit in to their community when all their guts, heart and soul are vibrating with rebellion towards the picket fences life of their seemingly perfect life in the period of 1950s. The Husband on a boring well-paid 9 to 5 office job, and the wife that’s still hoping on a acting career. How will they deal with this frustration that’s keeping them together and bound to tear their family apart? Can they survive it? Directed by Kate’s own real life husband, Sam Mendes, this movie created a great interesting dynamics that’s totally captivating for a supposedly small family conflict movie. You can catch Kathy Bates strutting her skill in this one too.
Brad Pitt anyone? Sorry Ladies, this Sexiest man alive is totally not sexy in this one I’m afraid.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button presented a mustached Brad Pitt and the story tells that the amazing condition that Button have been born 80’s and ages backwards with bizarre consequences, but the most important thing in life is not about the physical condition but moments of life. When if he is getting younger by the day, he is not stopping the time he has from young-ing to death. The biggest attractions for me will be seeing Cate Blanchett and Tilda Swinton in the same movie for the first time.
Talking about Independent movie, you just can’t miss Slumdog Millionaire.
Yup, you’ll won’t see any familiar faces or star you know on this one. But this is one hell of a story to watch. The boy that got into a TV games show because he can’t marry the love of his life that have been promised to someone else since they were young and because of his under privileged condition. Who wants to be a Millionaire is the game and he won it with his love and the whole world. Will be able to meet his missing love again and have her hand for himself forever?
OK! OK! Too many drama I know. All Sci-fi action buff. Here’s your deal of the month.
The Day The Earth Stood Still is showing on all big Screen now. you can go catch it now. Starring Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly, Kathy Bates and Jaden Smith (this time without his father Will by his side, he did pretty well really.) The 1957 remake, you still will catch the human-like Alien and the one eyes robot. But you won’t be seeing the one eyes robot trashing anything this time. The Dark matter will do the job and incinerating everything in it’s path just by mysteriously touching it. Well, the underlying humanity is still flowing strong in this one with a talking human looking that actually present more emotion. The effects will be mind blowing.
In a much controversial ending to this article. We have chosen to end it with Bedtime Stories.
A suitable title but not exactly your normal happy family movies. This one with Adam Sandler on the roster again. you are bound to see some Click action again in this one. A hell lot of special effects, and the plot is, whatever you make the kids think, they come true. Fresh plot, but the formula is totally similar. And if you like some action comedy from the original Sandler, this is the one to watch out for. Totally non-PG rated. I think.

Movie Date: Twilight, Australia, Bolt, Igor and many more

It’s another Friday night coming and we are planning on going another cinema trip this week.

Other than those 2 big Films that’s a sure fire at the box office, Australia and Twilight Premiering this week.
We have 2 pretty amazing animation on the run for the box as well.
First up is the story about a dog that is an actor who thinks that he actually have super power, meet real life. The movie voices by John Travolta and Miley Cyrus (as I said she is not dead and really alive at the premire of the movie) this might be the first animation that’s Pixar-esque without the super animation studio behind it, it’s produced by Walt Disney this time. And what makes it better is that it’s in 3D this time. So you can have all the fun you want in real dimension.
The next one is Igor, it came a bit late to the Asian audiences. Strange though. Usually we are one day early, anyway the hunchback is finally here. Or should I say all the evil scientist. Haha! If you are looking for something of a Nightmare of Christmas thing on this holiday season, this one really is something to look into actually. It’s pretty fun to see the underdog of scientist going head to head with all the scientist trying to be evil and make evil creation. John Cusack is the sound for Igor, and you can have a peek of Jay Leno sounding for another character this time round too.
After all the movie if you are looking for something you can comfortably watch at home. I’d watched something pretty amazing this time. The actress that I think is great at her craft and the Bond that was not yet the most famous secret agent that time and 2 young stars that’s something. Kim Basinger, Daniel Craig, Liam Aiken and Garrett Strommen star in this remarkable true story of Kuki Gallmann. I Dreamed of Africa is the story of a Divorced Italian Socialite, who changes her life after a car crash and leaving Italy and accepting the proposal to married Paulo a person she hardly know and moved to Kenya. There she have to face the hush world almost alone, lions, storms, snakes and poachers. Her world took a really sharp turn and left her to realize that she is destine to be with Africa to protect her land and the nature in it while she can only share on the glory and not to tame it. For Africa is a force of nature that can’t be denied. This is a realistic movie that see people real life and rise above adversity. A great inspiring movie with somewhat a sad but courageous ending.
*****************************************
While we are on the trail of ticket sales it is just for us to announce that Ms Taylor Swift has defanged the vampire and kick the butt of the cute young Idol’s David Archuleta off the #1 Billboard this week.

It’s a sad news to say that there’s more that flies dropping on the TV production this month than ever. “Pushing Daisies”, “Dirty Sexy Money”, and “Eli Stone” is deemed to not be pick up for another season this time. The studio is making it a very difficult season indeed. All 3 drama was not picked up for a full season. But we don’t know. In this grave hour. If there’s enough fans out there. They might remain. Or it’s just an allergic reaction to this year’s strikes. Anyhow I wish everyone….. Break a Leg.
And be prepare this week with the famous step son of CSI, CSI: NY is reaching it’s 100th episodes this week and plenty of famous faces is going to appear, the show include Rumer Willis, Scott Wolf and Chris Daughtry caught in a scandal of life threats and…. A Waterfall? HAHA! It will be an interesting 1 hour guys.
Of course it’s also time for Dancing with the Star to lose another guy, this time is Cody Linley. Well, I guess it is time for the young star to end his journey on the dance from one short of the shows finale.
While we are on the news reel, Hugh Jackman is crowned the Sexiest man Alive by People’s Magazine this year. And GQ have their choice of Man of the Year out in various front page of this months edition. Wonder which will attract the most attention, Leonardo, President-Elect Barack Obama, or the almighty swimmer Phelps?

EAgle Eye and Blindness??! They Are this month's movie lineup man

What’s on the roaster this month you ask? Did you enjoy the Transformer saga last year? Well, The dynamic Spielberg is coming back with his beloved pupil, Shia Lebeouf this year with another thriller saga, Eagle Eye.

An innocent guy, framed and force to do things that’s out of his control...... who’s doing the control, Shia Labeouf’s character and another girl is in the plot. But who is plotting. They created chaos, chased by the Cops, and framed to terrorism and in the middle actually forced to rob and became real criminal, but all the while they are only listening to the threats of a woman on the phone. No matter how far they try to run, she just catch up with them as if she has the all seeing eye. or maybe she doesn’t exist at all or she is not human at all... it’s a great suspense thriller.

Some futuristic tragedy movie, Blindness. At the turn of the century, there an outbreak of a strange disease where all infected is going blind gradually but in a fast pace. Those infected is quarantined and those loved one that wouldn’t want to let go simply take the risk and goes into the quarantine zone with them. Would you sacrifice your loved ones and be lost to them forever? Or will you be by their side through thick and thin. This movie, rather using the very much overused Zombie plot, it’s using a softer touch of a slow but not inhumane desease to bring out the terror, examine human possible reaction to such disaster

Movies Preview on a clash of Titans

What’s on the other end of the kaleidoscope this week?
Well there’s The Strangers, this movie we watch the return of 2 great actors, Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman. You might feel that it’d be a bit boring because there’s only 2 person the whole trip in a hotel then in the town. It’s a lot like House of Wax only this time it started with a much more comfortable state and the scariness as I heard is more of a Saw shock. A little bit of Alfred Hitchcook for the Ghost month?
Of course this week we’ll also see plenty of other ghost story. Like the Ghost House(memory) from Thailand by Ananda Everingham. He can be the most famous Thailand faces besides the fighting guardian Tony Jaa. We have seen Ananda in several Ghost story from Thailand throughout the years, 303, Shutter and plenty more of course. Now here’s another ghost story. I hope one day they will have something dramatic and not scary to the international stage.

Anyway scary movie aside, of course there are some more quality movies coming this week. We have see comedy that’s not exactly doing well in the box office this month, Meet Dave from Eddie Murphy. I think the bad press is really catching up with him. No matter if any of the media extravagances are real or not. It seems that it is taking a toll on his work. Then from the guys that brought us Knocked Up there’s the a bit 40 Years old Virgin type comedy, Forgetting Sarah Marshall. While the state side are smart to stir clear the heavy action summer slot, Malaysian fans seem to have no idea what’s gonna hit them. The comedy is good just that wrong timing. People are just too crowded by all the action to go for this type of movie at the moment. Regardless of what’s the market is in this summer (we continue to see the Dark Knight domination), these are some of the better comedy that’s worth a look.

Alright, everything off and here’s the Biggy for the week. It seems that there’s a bit of a clash between Vin Diesel and Jason Statham this month. With the Death Race opening early this week and Babylon A.D. coming in the corner, There will be another show down of action movie definitely. Both are about action and futuristic they have certainly the most different culture and storyline. Death Race is a bit of the remake of the 1975 Death Race 2000. Since we are already over year 2000, the Death Race is no more about killing civilians but it’s about a bunch of convict that’s racing for their life literally. They are given a chance to wipe a clean slate if they win the race. Of course in every good action movie there’s a plot and conspiracy behind. Might all the convicts be framed into the race?
As for Babylon A.D., a mercenary escorting a lady of New York in a age where everywhere there’s crime everywhere....... the plot, the lady is no ordinary being. Indeed, the person to bring Armageddon to the earth or the next Messiah. If you wish to know the answer earlier, you may try to finish the book Babylon Babies which the movie is adapted from. And I’m sure it’ll blow your brains off even if you have read the book before.

Movies. Movies.

Definitely Maybe. That the title of the movie la. the latest movie from Ryan Reynolds. no action just romance and comedy on this one.

Of course the latest from Keanu Reeves, Forest Whitaker and Chris Evans is on the screen this week. but I doubt that it'd do any better than last weeks movie cos it's not exactly the spring break or Summer blockbuster cup of tea.

If you are looking for some querky movie there's 2 coming out this week. which is "Flight of the Red Balloon" and "My Blueberry Night". the first is the french movie by the famous Juliette Binoche, but it's a french movie by a chinese director. very very sensual and independance. the latter also is by a chinese director, the famous Wong Kar Wai, the director have break all barrier from Chinese to any European market winning awards. and his film as always is totally an art and redifine film as the 3 art to be discover by mankind. But still the US as always is stubburn to accept outsider and refusing and prolong the process of film to be declare as an important artistry for human being. the Film stars the Famous Jude Law and the songstress Norah Jones. it's very artsy so those people looking for mean sex or action dun go there. HAHA. This one is purely for Art admirer and independance movie lover.

As I say last week, The Ruins is on the the block this week. and so do one comedy called "Sex and Death 101" starring the sexy Simon Baker and the "Half-Sexy" Wynona Rider. It's more of a comedy than love story. so the spring is in the air. AHhhhhh....... HAHA I still can't recover from the misfortune of miss Rider from previous year. sorry.

Smart People is open starring the hot hot (not sexy hot, but oven bake hot bread kinda hot) Juno's star Ellen Page and Sarah Jessica Parker. Just another love, family comedy. continue with the spring theme. if it's a bonus or a bummer, Ellen kiss a much much older man in the movie. and not a handsome one too HAHA. Guess who she kiss?

A really strange but inspring movie is "The Visitor". I'm not giving out the plot. but i think it's a pretty moving and happy movie to watch.

of course last but not least..... "Prom Night"? there's just this strange trend. after "I know what you did last summer" there's just this crazy idea from the company to come out with at least one horror thriller every spring and summer. come on it's not exactly fresh bread anymore. and the over is getting dull and darker by the year too.

Preview of the Movies Coming Up Ahead

My Fiends always ask me how come everytime I go out I have to watch movies. and every weekends I watch Like 4-8 movies. Here is the reason why. because movies are great. the provoke thoughts and remind me that the world is far bigger than I thought and far smaller than I'd like it to be. There are so many great ideas in a movie that when you are complaining about the small boring stuff in life. great art are being created in the same ways. and movies is the result of it. Hard work and at the end of may be 3, 5, or even 10 year(in the case of Hell's Angel) a great result piece is born. and why so many movies? because look at the movies below. these are the one only coming out in these week alone. so how can I not watch them all? HAHA! Enjoy and choose one that you like to watch. I guarantee you'll enjoy them. Stop complaining.

Wanted -> A new twist on the Mr. and Mrs Smith from Angelina Jolie. Starring the Handsome James McAvoy. Regardless if you have seen the Oscar and BAFTA nominated movie Atonement or not. this will be the breaking out movie for McAvoy. And of course not to forget the great Morgan Freeman
The very married but great to look at guy is going to be a killer that's going to be trained by Jolie character and along the way to be come the greatest assasin of all.

21 -> this one already is on the screen. just coming out last week, it's hitting big on the buzz wave. A story starring a string of handsome actor (Jim Sturgess) and beautiful actresses (Kate Bosworth) about 5 MIT kids persued by their Professor and went to play counting cards in Las Vages. the twist is on Kevin Spacey character. who's the baddies? who's really winning in the end.

Flawless -> this movie is a lower buzz on the air wave now. It's a movie from Demi Moore or the story from 19560's London about the Stealing the Flawless Diamond of all time. Also starring in infamous Micheal Caine also of course.

Run Fat Boy Run -> it's Friends David Schimmer directorial dabut, and Starring the ever funny Simon Pegg and in my opinion, most beautiful actress on earth Thandie Newton. it's a comedy about a fat guy winning the heart of Thandie Newton.

Stop Loss -> of course it's about the war and the retunring or non-returning of the soldier from Iraq. how the veteran are being treated and how they cope with it all. All because you sign a contract you can't refuse? Starring Ryan Philippe and Channing Tatum.

on a lighter note

Nim's Island-> Jodie Foster, no introduction needed there. but she doing comedy always is a bit over the edge. and then there's the most celebrated child star of the year, Abigail Breslin. You've seen little miss sunshine? you'll know why everyone want to work with her. This one is a story about a writer naming a hero in her own name and get an email from a kid who ask her to save her father that's lost at sea. more of a comedy than an adventure movie really. Chinese audience may have a remember another movie of the sunshine girls days or happy ghost days of a group of traveling school trip lost at sea. it's almost the same theme.

Leatherhead-> the one headed by the great George Clooney and Renee Zellweger. what a combination. these 2 will have you craking from the start. and if you throw in John Krasinski there who can resist. it's about making professional Football into a reality in the year when no ne is really looking that way.

The ruins-> a Thriller that's not exactly getting a lot of buzz. starring Jonathan Tucker and Shawn Ashmore about a bunch of teenager discovering some ruins and then encounter something aliens. when trapped by the villagers it seems there's no way out and they are bound to be killed either by the villagers or the thing in the ruins.
