use solar radiator and hot water system.
use Sky light at home.
use banana peel as fertilizer for plants.
you may have a section in your house farm using worm to decompose left over into fertilizer instead of dropping them to the trucks.

Change all light bolts into energy saving kind. And connect all plug system into central timing circuit breaker.

Fruit spray makes easy, water, vinegar, baking powder and a couple drops of fruit extract oil, 5 minutes is all you need to clean of all insecticide and pesticide.

And for natural friendly cleaner. Vinegar and pure fruit soap is a good way to go. Add a zap of lemon for extra cleaning power and fragrance.

What’s funny is that I haven’t had a clear realization that this week is earth week until yesterday. And weeks before that I’ve been to the DVD store to see what I can get and there’s this documentary on discount. Without thinking much I bought it home. Planet Earth by BBC and Discovery channel. It is one of the most amazing documentary series I’ve ever seen. The high definition is clear and perfectly dynamics from the aerial shots to the animal’s close up.
And I’m watching the best documentary in Earth week and only the other day did I notice it is the documentary that Oprah have been promoting last year.

Green is the New Sexy

Well I think it’s time to renew one of my vows to be green.
Well you guys have heard about it all. I just realise there’s only a few ingredients we need for all domestic cleaning purposes. What you need is vinegar, baking powder, lemon(for both cleaning effects and the good smell), and soap (organic preferably and less usage as possible). You can clean anything with vinegar and baking powder and water mixture really, even the insecticide on vege and fruits. And if you prefer to get rid of the smell of vinegar, then let in a few drops of lemon. There you have something that’s ever so friendly to the earth and effective too and most probably much cheaper than most of the over the counter cleaning solution really. Try it out. I did. Just remember not to use soap on anything that’s you are going to eat.
Besides that something else you can just do is that buy a water bottle and not mineral water. One you are creating plastic waste, even if it is one bottle a day, that’s still one bottle. And there’s the hygiene and plastic tocsin release from refilled plastic bottle. So it’s easier to just get rid of it one and for all and just use a better bottle. As for plastic bag, if you must ask for paper or bring your own none plastic bags for shopping. Just put it into your handbag.
Then one more things that‘s beneficial both financially and eco-friendly is changing one light bulb at a time. change to energy saving light bulb, because one light bulb may cost 5 dollars more but in one month you’ll get it back from the electric bills and it last at least twice as long as the usual one. Of course on the energy saving side, it’s always a good trick to adjust 2 degree higher on your air-con.
And for health reason, and a little bit of eco-friendliness, look for organic food. You’d get less harmful chemical in those products, I mean in all eatable product try to look for that and the less we demand it the less people are going to use it. it’s a bit more expensive, but my thought is it’d do good on my health bill if I don’t get my body sick more, and I sure don’t mind a better and longer life.

Green Car, are they all green not at all. but, which are the most efficient way to go for green?

I was watching this documentary the other day and something in the show got me wondering.
When we say going green are we truly into it or are we just talking about money again.
It’s really funny when you saw that a third world country city in India can have over 3000 electric taxi yet a first world country like America can’t even get one taxi driver to get theirs changed. The electric taxi cost about 12k each. And they have the most primitive setup, just 6 car battery and you are off. Some may have autogenerator in the vehicle. And you may recharge it with any home socket plug. And if your battery are about to go off. You may get any pre-charged battery set from any gas station or battery station.
So isn’t that the perfect set up? Just your home can be the charging station and all gas station have the set of battery to replace everytime and it cost even less than gases.
If you are asking about the trade off of using battery may cost more non-green garbage. It’s not like that any zero emission vehicle is not. The very expensive hydrogen car though have no carbon emission but hydrogen are hard to find and the production of hydrogen fuel is from fuel degration which also produce more carbon that usual which is not exactly the perfect plan for 0% non-green garbage production either. And with one hydrogen car you’d have bought over 300 electric taxi produce by the Indian. Which could easily replace the whole New York’s taxi system and the whole LA Taxi system with the price of 2 Prius. Which the prius a hybrid is not exactly a 100% clean system either.
So if you are thinking about green go electric. They are totally cheap. And totally workable. Much better in my opinion than Hydrogen. And you can straight away become zero emission right now. Just replace all you cars with battery one instead of gas.

Well, I'm not saying you shouldn't try green. just one thought which is the fastest way and most effective.

California, I'll be praying for all of you

I must say this year the wild fire started so early, no one have anticipated it. but all the lighting strikes and fire spot is just too much. it's crazy.
I hope that all of my friends in the area are fine. and for those of you that living in the area. The air condition is so bad, you just have to take care. drink a lot of water, wear a mask whenever you can. try to stay at home if the smoke gets too bad. al so make sure that most of your house is wet as much as you can.
I hope that this summer won't be such a long smokey one to all of you.

Summer is here and It's time to have fun

Santorini. I know I know. It's a bit tideous to travel for 4 days island hopping and transfer for 4 ship ride to get there from Athens.
I tell you what. I've been to Athens and stayed there the whole month of 2004. You go there. After you come out of the Airport. Book a place in Kificia. a place where you can really feel how Athenian lives nowadays. it's a residential area with all the local style. In summer. you can watch open air cinema. the best cinematic experience I've ever had. You can have beer and hot dog wild you are watching the movies and there's and middle hour break for you to refill.

in Kificia you get all the Greek food. be it fast food or taverna one without all the bussle and queue in Athens city. If you are wondering where the heck is this place . it's the end of to north of the red line subway. this line weave across the 2004 Olympic area, to the centre of Athens right where you can reach all the famous museum and the Parthenon and straight down south to the beaches at the edge of Athens sea port. one subway line to wee them all.
wild you are in Athens city check out the open air restaurant, the small counter pita and kebab joint and the nightclubs. they are all just around the central station, Monastiraki stop, where the good old Library of Hadrian is. Trust me. come out of this station first and you'll get the full blown Athens vibe straight away. and it's right below the Acropolis.

after you havevisited the old Athens you can move on to the sea port,Piraeus and buy some tickets either straight to Santorini (by plane is 45 min but around 150 euros, by sea you may need to do some hopping but every hop is worth the travel. 45 euros. but straight from Pireus to Santorini is about 8 hour ship ride. you'd be bored to death I tell you.) Usually Island hoping we go by east side, usually take about 7-8 days to hop all the way to Santorini. You go from Athens to Andros, stay there for one night and go around the largest island in Greece. down south to Tinos. then catch a boat to Mykonos. stay there for another night. next stop to Paros and only then you reach Santorini. You may check some travel guide to see what kind of history you want to visit. there's plenty of these story in every island and some are barren wasteland. some have only local resident. some have hippy night life. depends on what kind of trip you are looking for there are around 200 big and small location to look for. you may make a trip to Milos or Serifos before you go back to Athens. But you must know that there are no motor transportation to the top of Santorini where the city center is. and if you weave across out fo the tourist routh of the island there'll be more surprises.

Alright, if the Greek Island is not your type. you still can get to the Caribbean. Like Barbados to escape from all the hassle of city life. or Bahamas, or Aruba or Jamaica. All are quiet and peaceful land to enjoy a summer vacation. I have suggested Malaysia last week. you'll get all the fun and not the hot weather now.

Yes I know I've suggested all sea side. what can I say I love water and vast plain land. which is why I'm hoping my friend at the Oregan or Oklahoma Area can give me a deal to stay in their ranch for a week. I'll work my butt off but I'll have all the fun haha.

Well, Everyone enjoy your holiday. beware of heat stroke and wear a lot of sunscreen guys. this is going to be one of the hottest season ever.
