Lion King in 3D Vs Paranormal Activity 3 which 3 you’d rather?

Finally the Lion King has landed in Asian soil. The King of the vast land and Pioneer of CGI Simulated 3D on 2D format, is here. It’s proven that the moving spectacle in2D have pop out of the big Screen this year and once again capture and mesmerizes every living children soul in all of us once again.
As I was watching the familiar storyline, I still can’t stop myself chuckling at Pumbaa and Timon’s Joke line. And the love gaze of Simba and Nala still evoke those eagerness for pure love when we are young. And to see the semi-British accent of Scar is simply remarkable, and amaze me about the writing of the 90’s of such animation. What’s lack in visual then is filled to the fullest potential by the script written, every words that comes out of the character are the brilliant still until now. And now it really comes into full cycle with the 3D effects showing such great visual stimulation.
Now we go from a huge budged animated fantasy to the low, very low budget realist approach horror movie. Which one is the best? If you ask the studio, both of this is earning big bucks, to use old footage of a popular animated movie and put in 3D effects surely cost less than creating one from scratch. But still the budget of putting in the effects can be far more expensive than the Paranormal. Because it don’t need much money, hell it don’t even need any famous people for the sound or acting for that matter. It’s realist movie, which means the flaw is the essence to making such movie real.
So the movie only takes a mere 3 mill to make and have been raking havoc on the box office. Would the studio keep producing this kinda movie? Well with the budget and the profit, you betcha.
Is the movie scary? For first timer, maybe, for old timer? Not so much, the first movie is boring for most part, the second is….. mysterious, because using a dog and we don’t see the actors coming out to promote much this time thus making it more real and people does wonder if the studio is using real footage. This time using unknown again, you find that it’s on sub point level on the scare Richter. The Bloody Mary scene is pretty scary. But the ending simply is a short simple and ridiculous explanation to it all.

Hanna Brutality and Gentle combined

Captain America has set great box office in the US. But most of the country around the world have not seen the movie yet. Allowing Harry Potter and Transformer to take more stake of the summer ticket sales.
So this week, we turn to watch some movie that’s not too promoted at all.
Hanna is one movie that’s been missing out from people’s mind because of lack of promotion yet it’s a chilling and fantastic movie to watch.
Seeing Saoirse Ronan acting as the innocent yet brutal trained super agent is simply breathtaking. You fell in love with her the first moment those blue eyes appear on the big screen, then she show her talent when hunting the deer, then the bravery in going into the agency to kill the handler and escaping.
The story has both depths and rhythm and speed and velocity.

the Real Unstoppable comes head to head with the ultimate Sci-fi Skyline

Unstoppable is simply unstoppable.
The thriller with the up-and –coming Chris Pine, teaming up with the one-and-only Danzel Washington is simply a thriller itself to watch them sparing on the silver screen.
Though the main character is the train, you just can’t keep your butt on your seat when Chris Pine try to jump on the train or when u are watching Danzel Washington running on it.
The plot is simple. A lose train on a railway track and everyone is trying to stop it.
It’s a spectacle to watch the train storm through everything though. It felt like the train has a soul on itself and retaliates everyone trying to stop him with sheer elegance.

For those of u that have missed You Again. I think you ought to get it on DVD or cable next time. It’s not the type that any macho man would like. But I find that it’s not bad to get a feel laughs without too much “dirt” sometimes. You Again is like a “The Proposal”-feel / Wedding War Story line meets Mean Girl Plot.
Yes, it’s the ultimate Chick Flick. But it brings so much of fun when there’s 3 generation of great actor and actresses on a movie and watching them throw comedy at each other every 5 minute.
I laugh until my lung falls out. Haha
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now the Holiday season Blockbuster is on full fledge. Opening the Full CGI –Graphic Blown Saga is Skyline. A more steady camera’d “Cloverfield” and a turn back to the old “Independence Day”-esque set up. U might find yourself trap in a movie that’s too clear in graphic though. Cloverfield sink you into the scene, too near in fact that u puke. But Skyline, a lot of the work draws u out of it. The Graphic is amazing. But u still can see that the merge between the CGI and the real set is not well balance. Black Plastic bag as the floor of the space ship? Guys, even Aliens don’t do that mistake 25 years ago.
The storyline is short and simple. It’s a lot more like an elaborated Special Effects movie projects really. The Effects is fantastic. And u can see the lead in to every big scene. But it felt too forced. And the characters a lot of time simply run around to showcase the real character of the movie, The Visual Effects.
There’s just too few emotional trigger in the movie after the first 15 minutes to attract the audience to the main character.
Everybody is going 3D
I know that after the whole Avatar incident. Every studio is doing their best to go for 3D.
Many would think that when it's 3D everyone would flock to see it.
and what many didn't think is that, what would happen when a 3D movie becomes a flop?
Here's a good advice to the studio. Not all movies are good in 3D, not even every action movies.
Unless the movie is planned for 3D from the beginning. After a few failed projects, audience would hesitate to go in. and I must warn you guys. Despite the sale on Clash of Titans. It is clear to the audience who have gone for 3D, it's not a 3D movie.
So, one down 2 to go. with 3 strikes, you'll get Out. and a warning, the more the flop sales, would means the more the next coming 3D will not get it's audience. So choose wisely, which movie you want to do it in 3D and make sure the cinematography knows how to capture a 3D scene on film. if not..... I'm sorry to say you'll be losing more millions than earning them doing 3D treatment.
My bet of flops, if not done right that will really get the strike totally out of the court. would be Twilight and Harry Potter. The latter is already in the can for 3D so we'll see how it fairs in the cinema this summer. if it doesn't digest well, then it's bye bye baby to the studio. Don't misunderstood, I'm sure the Harry Potter would sell, it's the rest of the 3D movies that's coming in that will lose. and with this economy, people will choose more wisely after getting hit a few times. So out of the 136 3D coming in this year. I'm sure that not every person would go for 3D and I wonder which 3D will be the first to lose millions.
Before this, I thought that movie studio are great minds. only one or 2 flops in the good old days. now, 136 3D movies? You'd ought to get at least 30% of them not earning. and I wonder how many money from those are?
One not on the movie Loser. Not that the movie isn't a great movie. from the beginning the script, very close to the comics are already something that's best on paper not on screen.
the comics, is exciting because the "Kow" and "Pow" and "Boom" are already enough. but on screen it's a totally different story. And the angle of a lot of the scene are very distance and disengaging when someone shoot a bazuka or blow up a car. now a days, audience have been Dazzled with right on your face effects and gore. So the still so squeeky clean action movie from comics is just......... too clean for them. Surviving on humor? I can accept it. but most just leave that to long winded TV Series now.
Avatar 2D VS Avatar 3D
Well by now everyone knows that Avatar will be the most grossing movie in the world everywhere. Of course the studio thinks it’s about the 3D because this is a 3D movie all the while when it goes into production.
It is amazing what a producer can do when they really put their mind into it. It’s James Cameron. I’m sure the adventure have not been the most easy going for everyone but the push is needed for the cost is sky high and the quality must be met. And only a great director can do that. I have no doubt the scope of work being put into Avatar is no small matter with doing 3 Lord of the Rings movie put together.
I do agree the movie is made for 3D only. And if the studio thinks they are going to get a piece of it this year or next…. I think they are really wrong. When there are more choices, the demand would be bigger than the usual Final Destination or even Avatar. Audience would want more than that.
With Avatar, you even get a fear of height from it. That’s how good it is. Can every movie be that good? So if the studio jump the gun too fast they are in for a big budget deficit from it.
I must say not every audience would appreciate wearing a heavy glass on a boring movie that would cost even more and in the end it’d become another Hong Kong movie scene. Where the price is sky high and everyone is choosing to watch the movie on the net rather than the cinema.
As for whether Avatar would get the Best Movie. It’d be a great story to have one like Avatar to get the Best Movie. They already got the money to do all the move they needed to do it. To get 4 times the return compare to the cost of Avatar is amazing, that ‘s why the studio is going with the formula too. But in my opinion only a couple of movies for all of the hundreds 3D movie that will make it this year on the box office.
I’m sure though that like Titanic. The movie will take home most of the technical awards it’s nominated. And that should quite well lead to Best Movie. And there will be quite some joke on it too.
As for the ticket sales it will continue, might not be as long time coming as Titanic but it will be well through 2 Billion in my opinion when it’s finished.
the Epic Movie Week, Avatar's Alien, Vs the most important world History, The Bodyguards and the Assassins and on little Treasure Hunter
Avatar, The movie that is supposed to be the epic CGI movie of the year, turn to be one of the biggest movie of the year going into getting the award for the best movie? Could it be too good to be true? Sound familiar? Titanic anyone?
Well, that’s James Cameron. You can never say no to one of the most innovative, diverse and ahead of time director.
Let’s have a look, the movie is real, the character though CGI, the expression seems real enough to get people feel the emotion. It is close enough. The story? You got the epic love, the tough love ,the friendship, the comrade, the sacrifice, the epic battle scene, you got the action, there’s the move, there’s the exotic creature, there’s the good and the bad, the family, the fights to get recognize and to ward off enemy.
All the element of a great epic story is there, now the technology. The graphic is definitely ahead of our time and the illustration and animation is better than a lot of movie of the past. The editorial, the cutting board have done some of the most amazing timing for a lot of the scene, the setup of the backdrop is breathtaking. There’s not a doubt that it would be one of the most anticipated and best movie. But how many people can get over the fact that it is 90% computer generated and view it as any actors concentrated movies?
Unexpectedly, my life has brought me back to my root this year. With the urges of some of my friend from the mainland. I’ve come to watch 2 of the most anticipated Chinese movie of the year. First is the story about how Mr. Sun plans his rebellion of the China last Empire when he arrive in Hong Kong for less than 3 hours and successfully become the father of democracy for China. The Bodyguards and the Assassins is about the little incident in Hong Kong between the gang that have been protecting the movement from the China Empire. So a bunch of local, from scholar to rich man to the student to the cart puller, all is in a plot to let Mr. Sun has the time to plan with his co-conspirator all around China. The many unnamed rebel that have sacrifice for one single effort to over-throw the then corrupted Empire. A movie that have taken 10 years to make, hundreds of cast changes, that have wear out all of Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan’s resources to make. The story of making this movie about a Small incident in the October of the turn of the last century…… is as Epic as the movie itself. And there’s no disappointment in such a movie that comes from the most inner heart of the movie maker himself. And the tenacity to make it through everything to make this movie is even admirable.
The second movie is the all-hyped Jay Chow’s and Taiwan most beautiful woman, Lim Chi Ling’s movie, The Treasure Hunter. There’s no comparison to the previous 2 movie. The editorial is a bit rough, the story is a bit weak in spot. It is not as perfect as any of Jackie Chan’s old treasure hunting movie. Yet, with the star power that is from the movie. 2 Best Male Actor and one most anticipated actor of our time. Treasure Hunter still have it’s attraction, and predominant fans. It is about the story of the a treasure hunter that is working for a boss, when the boss’s daughter is kidnapped and boss been killed. It is up to the treasure hunter to retrieve what’s been stolen and save the girl. Yup, it’s all the cliché but a cool entertaining movie to watch if you have the time.
