Up, a little animation with a big heart and huge adventure

Just got through the Animation of the year, Up.
I must say it is better than Wall-E
Simple thing, grumpy old man who lost his wife, leave the city with his house and stuck with a kid on the adventure.
Pixar never fail to touch the hearts of everyone’s watching with the slightest touches of detail here and there.
There you have the long lasting love of a couple. In the end, the old man realizes they have given up a bit of their own dream in the past when they become family. No regrets there, yet it is time to have some closure by fulfilling what’s been left undone.
Along the way, you learn that the journey in life have already begin to take you away from where you set out to be and you have already let go then day you let another person in. even when it’s just a small kid.
Surely enough what’s a great adventure without some fights and great excitement and interesting fictional creature and gadgets. HAHAHA!!
Pixar have never fails to impress. Why would it this time.
Up is the most compelling and touching story ever comes out of the animation dream factory.

Did I get my furniture by the miracle of Chance and Law of Attraction?! Thanks to my Brother it is somewhat correct to say that HAHA!!!

Talk about Law of Attraction, when I came back from Athens on 2004, I always thought that I wanted to have a comfy living room or home like my brother’s. Sure enough after come back so long I’ve already forgotten what I really wanted to have.
Yet sure enough the natural Law never fails to impress those who can open their eyes and see it.
What happens in the past 2 weeks is that. I have not saved enough money to get what I want. Nor did I save more than when I did in KL, with my raised salary. I got more debts, yet a somewhat healthier life. And the amazing thing is that this time I got the exact whole set of living room set and bedroom set my brother have in Athens.
How you ask? He gave them to me, exactly what he had there then. He’d move from Europe to South East Asia to work and send all his things to me. And now without really buying everything, I have all I ever thought I’d want. A bit longer than I’ve expected. But still it is the same living room and the same bed room as it is in Athens, the exact furniture. Surely I must thank my brother too.
My friend would have said I shouldn’t be happy cause I didn’t earn it on my own.
Why spoil the happiness. I am grateful for the gifts, I and thankful for what I receive. Whether I did it on my own or not, you should know by now, good things come by chance, no matter how hard you try. When it comes, there’s no stopping it. So I’d just be grateful for the things I receive.
Gotta really give it to the One above for the good fortune with this little joke. Love life, for you’ll never know when something amazing will happen to you. I am in Heaven now!!!

District 9, Disturbing realistic for a Science Fiction movie

From a romantic comedy now we move on to something much more logical or rather, unrealistic.
Making movie history, here’s the most realistic scenario of an Aliens invasion.
District 9 is one of the most innovative (Hence, I didn’t say the most entertaining.) movie of the year. Rather stopping in the US (like all movies does), the Aliens choose one of the most uncommon of places for the people from the space to land. The Grasshopper like aliens (not the cutest creature in the world) been taking refuge in the similar condition as any African have in Johannesburg inner city. After 10 years, the only human character that matters (not the most likeable Character either.) become the person to do the dirty work for the private company to evict these Aliens from the camp. In the process, he got something in his mouth and started to change.
The Private company tries to catch him for testing and he escape find refuge in one of the alien he bullied the day before.
Trying to make it realistic with documentary-style cinematography at first, makes audience pretty uncomfortable with the prospect of having uncommunicatable creature as huge and threatening as human living among human is far too much for normal audience to accept. No need to say to see a not so like main character to be the hero of the movie and the side kick is a similarly unfavorable graphic animated Insect….. it won’t likely be the most likable movie of the year. But it would be one of the most realisticly shocking movie of the year, taking people in the reality of the probability of really having such aliens living among humans. Indirectly showing the cruelty of corporate operated humanitarian effort, the greed or inhumane condition of the operation, that somewhat resemblance or signify what would happen when a private corporation really takes over such effort in real life. So in the end all they wanted is to research and get the weapon and money.
I must say, the graphic is undeniably some of the most realistic I’ve seen on the big screen. It is believable and most of all adapting from a real scene effects, to making a TV news screen the silver screen makes it totally believable. And though audience dreaded the first 30 minutes, they are pretty much capture by the fast pace action after that.
The movie reminded me Cloverfield, but without the wobbly camera movement, but remain the realisticity. And also of most British monster or gore comedy movie, less the grammar, much of the ironic and the gory blasted bloody scene of people being killed off.
So all in all it is a new look for the movie scene, but most likely not the most likable and might probably fade into some other cult movie category in the end for the too innovativeness and lack of likable factor.

I must say with the vision intact the first time director did a fantastic job.

No big alien invasion scene so don't expect Another Independance Day. but there are some really African or Iraq like alley Battle scene with cool gadgets and machines. must be worn, those who is sufferring from terrorist attacks or war caused PTSD might want to sit this one out.

what would you expect from Peter Jackson....... is the as wacky as a genius as any Jackson we know. Congratulation on another new Blockbuster of the week success

The Proposal is a solid lock of Love

Finally I have time to get a run on The Proposal.
Anne Fletcher did it again. You can call it another Sandra Bullock comedy, you can call it whatever you want. The matter of fact is that the chemistry is impeccable. From the beginning, the audience is transfixed on those 2 persons.
To tell the truth if the performance is not as good, the lack of much substance from the story would have cause the audience to walk out. But to see Ryan Reynolds naked ass (again) and Sandra beautiful body and face on screen again is probably the most delightful thing of the summer. The sparring of great talent is always the most enjoyable thing in a movie.
Betty White is always the most professional comedian out there. The lady timing is right on target every time she appear in the scene.

Mind me say something to the Asian audience of how can a place be in day light at night. Parts of Alaska have daylight from day and night in the summer because of the northern geographical locale. Hence the existance of real use for thick curtains.

G.I. Joe, Attackt the Block Buster and Broke in with Bang this week

G.I. Joe is a success if you ask me
Reason is simple, the Stephen Sommers’ formula works.
There’s action filled opening, there’s the hanging feeling on every scene for the thrill chaser, there’s the grand special effects (which maintain the same quality as the Mummy Series). There’s the new dude, and new gang, and there’s the humor (which by the way I think Channing did a great job one delivering those with his own brand of charm)
Surely Sienna Miller is as beautiful as ever. The convincing performance as the doubled minded baroness is fantastic. Even the relationship between her and Channing is chemically charge to the brink of the cup.
Surely with all of the blockbuster out of the way this week, Joe surely is taking over the cinema with a 60 mill lead.
The action is as fun and as fast as transformer, the editing and the design of the graphic is fantastic on the chase sequence. But I must say the blurring on some of the detail like how they make it in mummy is making the special effect a bit unrealistic. It felt more like it’s a video game than a realistic movie. So I think on that department the producer might want to improve on.
Overall, the movie is entertaining enough and the twist and turn of the storyline keeps people on the sit from the beginning till the end.

HArry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Breaking the Blockbuster and still going strong

Just came off the Harry Potter’s Premiere, it is probably one of the most star-studded and wettest premiere ever.
Fortunately I got in about half an hour earlier.

This time the movie is like the book. Not as boring, and surprisingly eventful. The book is filled with boring flashback. This one is after all the set up for the last episode of the series.

They explain the reason why that Voldermort is immortal throughout all the ordeals. And setting up the greatest adventure ever where Harry try to eliminate Voldermort soul one by one.

As well, you’d know who is exactly the half blood prince in this episode.

There’s the games, there’s the love triangle, there’s the 2nd death of the series, there’s flashback, there’s the gathering of the good and evil.

This time it’s much darker, it’s grimmer for the good side. And it’s one hell of a set up for the finale.

As most of them said, since you’ve watched the first 5 why not just finish it haha!!!!

the Star Studded Premiere of Public Enemy yet the shadowy story

After coming back from the Public Enemies Premiere, it takes me about 2 days to actually recover from it. (Maybe it’s the Champaign or after party)
In the innovation of the movie world is growing more and more undeniable these days.
It is a good script, that actually allow Johnny’s character to develop into the most unique and quirky yet professional character in these few years.
Yet, mixing the professional Cinematography and amateurish handheld scene is a good idea. It created both the clear, dramatic for the gun sequence and car chase and bank robbing scene, yet the handheld give an intimate and closeness to the personal and romantic life of the character.
Yet the script is a bit lack in context. Almost, the whole movie touches on the character’s surface rather than dealt deeper into the character.
It might in an ambitious cinematographic movie, it will not be a fantastically admired Oscar contender yet at the moment.
One thing that worth talking about is that Channing Tatum makes a cameo in the movie as one of the FBI most wanted. Which makes this the 3rd movie that Channing is in for this summer block roll down, from the most anticipated G.I.Joe , Fighting and now Public Enemy. He is one busy actor this year.

Michael Jackson's Memorial Service

Michael Jackson’s Memorial Service this morning has been an event that moves the world.
People around the world is celebrating the life of a legend.
Memorial started with a private service at the Forest Lawn of the closest family and friends and then the remains is travelled to Staple Centre after half an hour.
The Police has cleared 101 Highway for the Jackson family convoy smooth passage from the Encino home to Forrest Lawn and then from there to Staple Centre so that Michael can be with his fans there after the private service ended at Forrest Lawn after half an hour.
The memorial at the Staple Center started with Smokey Robinson’s presenting the regards send by absentee and beloved friends of Michael, Diana Ross and Former South Africa President Nielson Mandela.
After close to half an hour of delay after that, Michael’s sealed in the Golden Coffin towered on top with roses is brought into center stage with the welcome cheers of everyone in the audience. Then Mariah Carey came out with her long time collaborator Terrence to serenade Michael with I’ll Be there.
Brooke Shield reminisce her time as a child entertainer with Michael, how generous and humorous and how Michael loves to laugh and smile.
Founder of Motown Record Berry Gordy remembered how Michael came to the studio with his brother and straight away blown everyone away with his talent in singing and the speed he learn all the steps to dances.
Jennifer Hudson brought down the house with her rendition of
And then John Mayer came on stage to perform the memorable solely on electric guitar.
Jermaine perform Michael’s favorite song, Smile by the late Charlie Chaplin
Usher sang the one song that is most suitable to the occasion and everyone’s heart’s desired words to Michael, Gone Too Soon, which formerly sang by Michael for the AIDS hero of our time Ryan White.
The memorial ended with the original back up dancers and singer of Michael’s London’s now will-never-be concert, introduced by the Director Kenny Ortega, to perform We are the World and Heal the World.

and a ending speech from the Jackson's family and the most moving goodbye by his daughter Paris.
It is a somber environment where the fans, family and friends celebrate the greatest celebrity of our time. While a lot of the world remembers his fault, it is well spoken by the representative of congress to address that everyone is only guilty only after proven. The representative will bring forth a motion to forever dub Michael as the greatest humanitarian on earth. For he is the holder for the Guinness World record for the most Charitable Pop Star.
While most people would have side see the contribution of out spoken Michael towards some of the most intense and important issue around the world.
Michael does brought down barrier, Michael does Take everyone higher from the bar, Michael does Unite the world, and he did unite a nation. He did in some little effort heal the world. He at the least allow us, this generation knows the correct attitude towards, famine, hunger, poverty, charity, AIDS, racism, discrimination and he’d opens the door to so many African American into Sports, Entertainment, even Politics and united all races of the world, Black, White, Latino, Asian, European and African, from Japan, to Birmingham Alabama to Birmingham UK, from South Africa to South America. From China to Russia to Australia. No one person in the world have not been touched by this icon in the slightest way.
God forbid, he even influence and help the career of Oprah and the now elected president of America Obama.
Therefore he is in the most sense a Human being, that one charitable person and loving in all ways the most worthy common villagers of the Global village.
For the We Pay our Tribute to you!!!!

Ice Age 3 Prehistory Dinasaurs Rival Modern day transforming Robots at the boxoffice with 42.5 Mill each

The battle between the prehistoric creatures and the transforming roots begins this week.
Happy 4th of July everyone!!!!!
The weekend brings in a whooping 42.5 Mill each for both movies tied at the top of the block.
Ice Age opens worldwide last week and become the first to rival the totally viral ticket sales of the robots.
The sequel to the animation this time is a bit more funny, a bit more relax, this time around it’s about family and this time there’s much more fantastic action than just plain talking humor.
There’s a lot more babies in the sequel. And there’s an unlikely bond between the dinosaurs and the ice age folks.
*********************************************************
Another movie I’ve got a chance on a glimpse before it’s drown out by all the summer blockbuster movies is State of Play.
This political suspense thriller is a great piece that took in some of the most amazing actor and actresses of our age that totally blow my mind and truthfully and completely told a reflective story of how dirty politics and press are inter related in the most peculiar and twisted interplay.
Starring Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Helen Miren, Robin Wright Penn, and Jason Bateman, you can be assured you’ll get a thrill out of it that is if you are interested in political movies.
