Ninja Assassin VS Storm Warriors

The Hong Kong is taking on the Storm Warriors comic again for the first time 10 years after the 1st movie.
A continuation from the first movie, and an exact continuation.
I mean, nothing much did change but the storyline. All of the fighting and the rush over from the first fight scene to the last. I must give credit to the actor and the stunt double. The action is impeccable.
Yet, there’s just one small problem, people have seen 300 and the cuts from hit to the drop…. You just miss the best part of it. The hit should be clear and not cut over and the drop is just an ending to a fall, no biggy to feature it is slow mo. Ppl want to see the hitting in slow mo, not the movement. Of course there’s no blood at all haha.
Well, the actor for the 2 main characters and the female lead is 10 years older, and it seems that they are maturing out of the character……. Don’t think the 3rd movie will be able to get done fast enough before they are old.
They just don’t fit the young and reckless anymore.
As for the effects, 10 years ago it’s a great leap for Hong Kong movie, but 10 years later, they are old. Hong Kong industry have to figure out a way to start improving their work on the effects from now on.

After a long awaiting month, I finally got a closer look to the Ninja that I was supposed to watch, Ninja Assassin
Rain did a great job as the Ninja. The physique is incredible. Though the script is not super incredible, but as an action movie it’s good enough.
At least the writer is good enough to write some humor into the character.
Better than those that didn’t even bother to look at it.
The special effects are old school, a little bit TV-esque to tell the truth. I am a bit impress with the 2.5D effects of the Ninja’s weapon flying around and yet that is the one thing that actually makes the movie seems weak.
The gore, to those that is squirmish…. You might want to take a back seat on this one. It is a bit out there. But for those that crave for it…. It’s not Saw so it’s not Gorish enough.
All in all it is a movie that enjoyable, and pretty simple.
