Prom Night in Black and White, this gang of garage brothers are what teenagers looks like these days. Energetic, highly creative and daredevil in their own right. (I’ve been wild too in the “old” days. HAHA!) but squeaky clean, (That’s what most parents with to think.) and totally cute (this one is for the tween-ager nowadays, mine and my younger sisters gang type) So, it’s great we’ve all covered and ready to rock some pop. The altered mix is a great blend You can check out this not your usual bubble pop group http://www.myspace.com/promnightinblackandwhite
And here is my exclusive interview with the gang from Saskatchewan, Canada.
Q: Now let’s start with some introduction. Who every one of your member is and how you guys were formed?
Matt=drums
Joel=vocals and guitar
Evan=guitar and vocals
Justin=bass god
We met at a local show. As I remember we're just kind of randomly talking about how the local scene needed some happy bands, and then we said we should jam. and it worked :)
Q: How would you guys describe your music?
It's kind of like pop music, but honest pop music. With a twist of everything other genre in it and guitar solo's. It ends up sounding like a style you've heard before, but with a completely new twist on it.
Q: the pop sound in your music is pretty distinct. Who is your influence musically?
We all have very different influences. I know that me (Joel), and Evan like some pop punk type stuff like all time low. Evan and Justin and Matt all listen to death metal though so it varies quite a bit, lol.
Q: In life are there any one person that you guys really look up to?
Mostly other poeple in bands, but i know that personally i look up to Barrack Obama. lol.
Q: do you guys write all your music? Or the writing happened naturally when you guys jamming in the garage and improvise?
We all just jam it out a bunch of times. Usually, one of us will come to practice with a riff or lyrics, and then we all jam it out until we have a song.
Q: Do you guys have any plan for online release for your songs?
Well our first EP entitled "This Sinking Ship", will be on itunes sometime in early 2009 :)
Q: Are you guys performing anywhere this holiday season?
We have a couple local shows here in Saskatoon and we are also doing some shows in Regina and other places in Saskatchewan.
Q: If anyone wishes to book you guys for any show, how would they contact you guys?
Honestly, the best way is just to message us on MySpace. We make sure to answer every message and comment we get.
Q: Are you guys looking for a record deal at the moment? Or you guys actually feel that you need more time to develop further as a band and musically?
We think that if we we're going to sign to a label, it would have to be natural for us. We want a label that will help us develop our sound, not change it.
Q: How are you guys spending your holiday?
We are all gonna hang out with our families by the fireplace. lol. its a typical Canadian christmas :)
Q: now which one of you is still single and available? I’m sure most of our female readers will be very interested.
Lol, well we are actually all single except for Justin.
Q Anything you would like to say to your fans out there?
We just want to say thx for all the support you guys have given us. The fact that someone takes time out of there day to listen to our music, and knowing that the lyrics mean something to them is the greatest feeling in the world. You guys are more than fans, you’re all like our best friends.
Well, thanks for the opportunity guys. Can’t wait to listen to your new songs guy. All the best
Jonathan
