I don’t know how many of you have watched the movie The Spirit.
In the spirit of the old Will Eisner comic. The graphic is terrific. The cinematography is as sexy as ever. But I gotta say it’s as boring as Batman Forever.
Lonely fighter with a sexy accent that just hit on every women he came into contact with and the story keep dragging on and on and on. The dialog is long winded and the fighting scene is like watching comics.
The cinema I’m in is half full and by the time the credits came up, half of the half is already out of the cinema.
To his defend it is not as bad as they think, it’s not much different than Sin City really. Just that it’s not 300. You know….. it’s not a ladies film. There’s no 300 macho guy half naked with speedo only running around and fighting in cold blood. Let’s say the gruesomeness, the sexiness is one level down. But I must say the beauty in the movie is about 3 times as much as 300. So it’s totally a guys movie this one.
I just hope that all those ladies looking for another 300 and not the comic will not buy the ticket just for the writer’s namesake. Cos you are in for one hell of a boring ride if you are.
