It’s a weekend. What else you think are gonna come out? Of course another movie reviews.
This week on the board are The Mummy –Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Well this one is an exciting one. The return of Brandan Fraser and the gang. I do miss Rachel Weiss though. Not that Maria Bello not a great actor. She’s more comedy bone in her actually. Just that sometimes it’s hard to get out of the character.
Anyway, the producer decided to start the movie with a history lesson, which is a bit off the mark. While the previous mummies have a mystical aura to it, this time the aura has lost a bit of the light. I still love the comedic side of the story though. Maybe it’s too Chinese for me. Most of the Asian crowd have seen some some of the history of some 300 y.o. emperor in the past in some ancient China War movie. Plenty of them to choose from really. So this time the mummy from ancient Chinese is a bit of a lack luster for the Asian crowd. But I think the Western crowd will appreciate it. the mystical magic, the sword fighting, the cruel punishment and the “funny” love story. Overall the combination is a suitable one. Just that last bit of the spell casting with English is a bit funny. When it begin with Sanskrit. But I guess when you’d lived for more than 2000 years you’d have mastered English mystically. HAHA!

The vritually new cast has done the great job. The Chemistry between the young and the "older" cast are good.
It is a fun movie to watch. All in all. So have fun before the Olympics start this Friday and everyone gonna be glued to the TV screen cheering their team and friends.
