The True Movie Star are those with Talent

I’m on a rampage today. All the thoughts I have when I’m away.
I thought I’ll do a full movie and star feature today. Since I started the day with some new movie I’ll start with some one that’s more experienced and I admire as a professional and actresses in the business.
Some of them you may recognize, some of you may not but I tell you, these ladies are the cream of the crops; they don’t really get any better than this.

Since the golden girls went off air, I find that actresses get their talent through a lot or hard wand and age and with it the experience that gives these ladies the advantages over the younger generation. First up will definitely be Dame Judy Dench, while some of you may just know her as M in the James bond movies, long before that Dame Jud Dench is a phenomena in the British entertainment. There’s a certain grace to her when she is royal and if you wish for her to be normal, she can be as normal as anyone can be. If anyone of you inspiring actresses out that that means it. you should see Dame judy Dench at work. You want to be her, because she can play any role. And I mean it literally any role. For the powerful Boss of James Bond, to the ladies in Mrs Henderson Presents, to the lonely wicked woman in Notes on Scandal, to the Demanding Lady in Pride and Prejudice, to the Lonely end of life with love lady in Ladies in Lavender, every role you can think of she is there, oh let’s not forget to mention, the Queen in Shakespear In Love. Of course there are many many more in the past. A great actor doesn’t comes out of a rock somewhere suddenly. You can be aged, but you simply sees professional at work here everytime you meet her and from what I heard, she is the most pleasant person to meet in person. And I do hope one day I’ll get to meet this great lady and work with one day.

Maggie Smith is Dame Judy Dench best friend at the art. A competitor no doubt. But Ms Maggie’s face spells a different kind of actress. While Dame Judy Dench can speak authority and miserable at times demand. Ms Maggie Smith have a face of royal if not rich. It’s a great representation of the British ladies in general (Before Diana that is). When you see her on screen, she demands it. She just has that attraction to draw you in and spit you out. Not the mean kind of ladies, but the subtle, kind. She is the mom, the lady, the beauty, the famous faces, the true star the actresses. She always have that glow, that attitude behind the kind stare, that captures you and you somehow fear in a way.

Helen Mirren, I must say, you’d think the Mr Helen is not going into the list? No way. Yes she may not be the same gang as Ms Maggie and Dench, but that’s also what makes it unique, she is not any of them. You get jumpy, you get young, you get that experiences yet bombastic action from Ms Mirren. Anything that she is, she is the ultimate authority figure in acting. How many people can say they have played both Queen Elizabeth and claim it as her own role. That is a challenge no one had ever accomplished. That aside, I must say this but no one plays a B***h better than Ms Mirren HAHA! I love her role in Calendar Girls and The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone. Of course not to be left off Gosford Park.
Well, you can see that the British though may not have enough block buster, but it is the perfect breeding grown for great actresses.(If you can stand the trial of time that is, I didn’t say it’s gonna be easy.)
Let’s move a bit into the America now. In the America, usually actresses are limited into certain images, like Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler, Diane Keaton, even Barbara Streisand is in the case. Too many list and category that fixes a person into on space.

But with one little exception (that I can think of), is Meryl Streep. She is the soft lady in The Bridges of Madison County, she is the bitch in Death Becomes Her, she is the brave mother in The River Wild, she is..... Out of Africa, she’s the mom in Prime and Machurian Candidate, and who can forget The Devil Wears Prada super Boss, and to go from there into a small role in Dark Matter, and then A Musical that’s so outregous like Mamma Mia?! This will be the best career an artist can ever have.

OH!! While I was on the page of America, I’ve thought of another legend, Glenn Close. If anything you ask, she is the lady, the ultimate actress with the star quality and the real quality in one package. Sunset Boulevard..... she is her, no one ever played better, she is that actress. She is the President face, she is the lady that survive, she is the Queen and Goddess of all three TV, Movies and Broadway. (Not that you don’t notice that all the other 3 is too great legend in all three genre). Ms Close is the working class and the historical Royal. And that face of her simply spell start power.

Let’s goes back to the Britain and the Calendar Girls, there’s one actress that’s in both and a something better, Harry Potter that’s where you can find how diverse the British Actresses catalogue can become, julie Walters. You can be a mother witch in Harry Potter, you can be the green leaf in Mamma Mia and still be outstanding, you can be the subtle old lady in Driving Lesson, you can be the sane and logical mind of a bunch of ladies wanting to pose nude in some calendar, You can be the grumpy old Ballet teacher in Billy Elliott, Ms Walters is the most hilarious and humorous person I’ve ever seen without even cracking a joke.

While I am on the trail of great actresses. I’d love to mention some people that I think is great actresses that may not have as much coverage as the ladies above but to my heart always are great actresses in their own way, Gena Rowlands, Joan Plowright, Lily Tomlin, Elizabeth Taylor, Judy Davis, Miriam Margolyes, Angela Lansbury, Julie Andrews and Cher. Ladies I salute you. You are all the Best actresses of my time.
