The History Boys

The History Boys, One movie I was not intended to watch and accidentally stumble upon on a boring night.
It is one of the most remarkable movie I’ve ever watched and I’ve only catch the second half of it.
A story about a bunch of British kids joining in a performing art and literature class with 3 amazingly different yet totally in tune teachers.
It’s a dramatic but accurate reflection of the school of the Britain today. And it’s a testimony of how great that the British actor is today. They are versatile, non-stereotyped and not afraid to take on character that is totally under privileges yet out shines every huge character I’ve ever known. They are not fakes, and they are far for literacy in their art.
While a many would just focus on the controversy of the story about homosexuality. It is a story that is far more wider than any of us thought it’d be. Blame it on the promoter, for my lack of interest in the movie at first. For I really have no interest in watching another story of a bunch of young lad growing up in a suburban school. Another Breakfast Club, another come of age story. But this one, it trust you into the world of performing art and literature in a way that is totally acceptable to youngster. It teaches us life, it teaches us art. It show us how life does imitate art and how a rebellious youngster could be inspired or inspire art themselves while riding their wild hormonal roller coaster. Of course in such films with so many young and adults mischievous along the story line it should be rated as any PG rating. But it does in many ways how to really convey true, truthful and great literature of our time and time long past to the youngster that are either too busy playing or lost their soul and uninspired or simply think it all is BS and not worth it.
May be it doesn’t really bring any money at one glance. But it is a part of our culture, a part of what forms our lives today and what art is far more realistic than it is on paper.
Therefore, I hope anyone of you would love to take a ride on the wild and crazy life of a British boys life and enjoy the professionalism of some artist at work then come and enjoy this film. This is what an actor should be like. Not the notion that you want to be famous. Not the notion that you are taking all the roles that’s been stereotyped in the entertainment industry. But to be a great actor or actresses that can truly take on every role there is in the movie and make it work on you.
