New Artists of the week

It's been a while since my last blog on the new artist category post. Well, totally sorry for all of you looking forward for this post for days.

I was waiting for some good inspiration. there are a lot of you that came in since the last 10 days and it's hard to actually review all of you.

but this week, one person actually pop out of the crowd. I'm not bias. and fame and name has nothing to do with this one. though the way that this guy come by is because I was searching for him and his brothers. It’s Andy James a.k.a. Andrew Lawrence of the Lawrence Brother Clan Trio. Andy James is the youngest of the three Joe, Matt Lawrence Brotherly Love. But this one is not about their fame in TV or another trio Brother singing group. Not at all. This one is about Andy James and his band. If you go to his MySpace you’ll find nothing about his TV past but a totally mature, young, enthusiastic and professional Artist, singer songwriter at heart.
The range of style that they are presenting, the arrangement of their music, the skill on their instrument has far exceeded my expectation from the green new comer in the music business. They are nearly in the same rank as John Mayer and Sting if not the same. I love them all. All of the songs. They are essential, creative, engaging and innovative. Some part experimental and totally in fused with multiple cultural influences. (Though everyone in the band is plain White Skin HAHA!) Love em. And I’ll recommend everyone to check em out. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=197514941

One more Actor turns Singer would be James Snyder. Been an actor in several supporting roles. Snyder decided to stretch his limb into the world of music and try his luck there. Though he still have a few projects on the movie screen. But I find if you got it, no reason not to expand it. Though his style is pretty similar with Andy James. But he is a solo rather than a band. So the sound is more..... intimate. It’s more personal, you’ll feel closer with this one. But it’ll be lack of the complexity and turning style of Andy James band’s provide. Still the songs is worth every penny and time. his voice suits the rock style just fine. Have a look at http://www.myspace.com/jamessnydermusic. I must say, John Mayer, beware, the new wave of talent is totally coming in and they are great.

Well, there should be no introduction on this one for the U.K. audience. Jon Lee. He’s in the former S Club 7 gang. But well before that he is in the Oliver! Broadway show strutting his stuff already. All of the experience aside, we know that the music industry often turn a page and consider artist as new after their transition from one stage to another. Well, now solo, Jon have a bit of a contemporary pop, Classic pop style. I always felt that this kinda style never dies and always a treat in the British music scene. If you are into British style of contemporary music, this is one of them. I find in the current of a more jazz and R & B dominated region, this type of music have a far more space to expand nowadays. Well, it may not suits everyone taste, especially the die-hard R&B clan. But it is a great form of art. Check him out at http://www.myspace.com/officialjonlee

Well, all of the soloist aside, you might want to check out this one if you are not looking for any acoustic and solo singer. Here’s a few Discotheque and Electro you might find interesting. I sure enjoy plenty of those at last week’s Love Parade. QBoy, It’s sexy, retro, and Classic. You can just shake it like you want it with this music. It’s not dirty at all. Totally sensual sexiness. There’s a few R&B mixes along the way too. Check em out at http://www.myspace.com/qboymusic . though the homoosexuality might be a bit troubling for some

Another Hot DJ Mixes that come my way this week is Dance Upon Nothing. The mix is totally Funkie. Heavy on Electicity. It’s simply electicfying. In a way the style is a bit querky like BJork. But I love it. always love something different. It’s not at all offensive or intimidating. And if you are looking for a louder and more up beat mixes, this is it. Check him out at http://www.myspace.com/danceuponnothing

While we are on the subject of Actor turn artist, Thomas Dekker is one of those doing it superbly. Aside from being a great actor in the series of the Terminator TV Series. You’d want to check out this dude music. They got me so pump up I can’t lay them down. Who would have thought, another TV actor turn Musician. Yet the style of music that he produces is totally in a different direction. It’s funkie, popping every corner and making head turning. You really can’t believe it. they are as great and Jamiroquai and any of the dance floor mixes Artist out there. Check it out. http://www.myspace.com/therealthomasdekker
