Thanks to some great friends, we got our copy of David Cook’s and David Archuleta’s Album early and for free. Thanks man, you know who you are.
Well, no surprise today on the CD rack we’ll review these CD and some more.

First Stop, the cute as a button David Archuleta. There’s isn’t much surprises I must say, a sentimental album with a bit of Chris Brown-ish sound. There’s no doubt that David A. got the chops to send out something fabulous. What we really lack is….. freshness. AI is in the end a show about 5 minute on stage. And of course the concentration of vocal changes and differential performance makes it interesting. But when it comes to album, you have all 10 – 13 songs to present and the combination will have to be in sync and perfectly orchestrated. It’s still a good album. Not as good as Clay Aiken first one, but not as bad as some of the worst. Of course in comparison there’s still space to grow. Maybe it’s the modern theme, it is something at David Archuleta age, if there’s one piece that’s more sentimental and a bit adult contemporary will make it more interesting. Something quiet and clear. Because the modern beat is a bit disturbing to really appreciate what Archuleta have. They are just too similar to me. Either to what’s on his album or other artists’. Keep up the good work man.

As for David Cook, apparently they are both of the same mould. There’s not that much surprises either on Cook’s album. As expected it’s Rock-pop-ish. Too many guitar. Not as much rift as what Daughtry have. To tell the truth I like the unreleased first album, Analog Heart better. It’s just a bit too soft for the rockin ear of mine. Maybe I am being hard. Don’t misunderstood. I’m not saying they are not great songs. I’m sure with proper promotion both AI finalist will have great success with these albums. Just that it’s not as good as I’ve expected. Maybe I’ve expected too much.

Well, on the other hand. If you are looking for something better and with a more edgy sound. (an a more fun theme too). something came with the same package today. Katy Perry Debut album, One of the Boys. Of course people been talking about the sexy, controversial lyrics since the first single came out. But with Hot n’ Cold out last month, it’s confirm to be one of the best album to take home this year. It’s so fun and fresh that it’s a new breed of beat after Avril Lavigne’s sound. Katy definitely is the new artist to beat this year.
